Project Brief:

Alphatech designed all the parts for the backpack in conjunction with our client. We also sourced the manufacture of a great deal of the parts needed for the prototype build.

 

Notes:

Our client for this project was an ex-professional diver and an expert in diving at extreme depths. He has invented divers breathing apparatus that reduces the effort exerted by the diver while breathing at depths.

The apparatus uses 2 chambers and a counterlung to constantly change the volume of air provided to the diver depending on the divers orientation in the water. The equipment is designed mainly to use air pumped from the surface but also has various emergency backup systems such as a re-breather in case of a failure of the surface air supply.

Results:

The prototype was tested in the clients test tank.

Our client is now seeking funding to take the apparatus into production.
