Alphatech karting Grand Prix provides plenty of thrills and spills

The Alphatech design team recently took to the track at Raceworld Exeter to battle it out for the office bragging rights over an evening of fast-paced, high-action racing.

Raceworld Indoor Karting, based in Greendale Business Park on the outskirts of Exeter, boasts a challenging 350 metre track which includes a flyover bridge and a variety of exciting corners. The facilities also include an impressive trackside diner as well as a large conference/race briefing room.

We opted for the “Super Grand Prix” format which allowed us a 10 minute practice followed by a 10 minute qualifying session before a 20 lap final set off from the grid positions previously attained. Exclusive use of the track allowed for us to enjoy a fierce competition.

The 10 minute practice allowed us to get to grips with the track and find our feet before we were quickly thrown into the ring for the main competition. The qualifying session was intense; with an average lap taking around 25-30 seconds we only had around a 20-lap window to make our mark. Scores were finally settled in an exhilarating eight car sprint race which concluded the evening. The top three drivers had the honour of taking to the podium and received medals for their valiant efforts.

Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all and a rematch is sure to be scheduled for the near future! Many thanks to Raceworld Exeter for accommodating us at their highly recommended racing venue which is perfect for beginners and regular racers alike!
